Black Sections
READ THIS BEFORE PROCEEDING
These sections of trail are designed for expert mountain bikers who are used to physically demanding routes. They require the use of a good quality, well serviced mountain bike. They contain long sections of steep, largely stable but unsurfaced trail and include unavoidable obstacles with large steps, gaps and drop-offs. Some timber structures have a tread width of 1m with exposed edges.
However, don’t make the mistake of thinking that these trails are gravity-fuelled; they include sections of steep, technically challenging climbs. As such our black sections are suitable for very active people, used to sustained effort. Be honest with yourself before starting this trail. Do you have the necessary skills, equipment and fitness to complete this trail? Do not give into peer pressure! |
Please note that some of our other trails have also been evolved since our first leaflets and information boards were produced. The current distances of the trails are as follows:
Family Blue Approximately 4km/2.5 miles
Beginner Green Approximately 12km/7.5 miles
Intermediate Red Approximately 18km/11 miles
Black Run Black Approximately 1km/0.5 mile
Both the beginner and intermediate trails climb steadily uphill for approximately 3-4 km before taking you on the fun downhill sections!
